DERMOGESIC^® is a fast-acting, non-flammable vapo-coolant spray that provides topical local analgesia for needle procedures and other minor invasive procedures, and for tracking the efficacy of epidural blocks.

The key feature of DERMOGESIC^® is its non-flammable composition, allowing it to be stored and used in theatres and A&E, as well as any other settings where ethyl chloride sprays are at risk of ignition.

DERMOGESIC^® is available in a 100ml aerosol presentation.

What does DERMOGESIC^® do?

DERMOGESIC^® acts as a local analgesic when sprayed topically onto the skin. It has no anaesthetic properties but rather works as a vapo-coolant. A thin film of liquid is sprayed onto the skin, which makes the skin cold and less sensitive as the liquid evaporates. The analgesic effect is almost instant because rapid evaporation of the gases causes cooling and numbing of the skin. This effect lasts for about 30 – 45 seconds until the skin re-warms, but will vary depending upon circumstances.
